Renovation & addition to the historic Kavanaugh Furniture Building. The design features retail & multifamily housing, office and community meeting space.
Located in Downtown Chicopee, Fruit Fair started in 1936 as a local farmstand and has since grown into a brick and mortar grocery store. Just before the COVID-19 pandemic, Sam and Jared Newell purchased Fruit Fair and not only revamped a stagnant corner of Chicopee Center, but provided quality food and essential products to what would otherwise be a food desert.
Sam and Jared are on mission to continue to provide for their community with locally grown produce – right from their rooftop greenhouse! JDA has joined Sam and Jared in their venture, researching the right greenhouse options, planning for optimal circulation from planting to harvest and preparing plans and technical drawings for this innovative addition.
The Holyoke YMCA was in need of detailed drawings of the entire building. JDA conducted thorough site measurements and drafted plans and elevations.
Accessibility/space utilization study. Proposed addition with elevator, accessible bathrooms, expansion of town offices and library.
